Colour has always been very personal to me. When I was young and discovering crayons for the first time, my mom has fond memories of me constantly seeking out the purple ones. It was the first colour I learned and has been a firm favourite all my life. Strongly associated with royalty and power, the colour also has deep connections to creativity and spirituality. As someone who has always been creative and had a love of princesses going back to the peak 1990s Disney era (yes, I am aware I am aging myself here), I suppose it’s really no surprise why I’ve always loved the colour.
Colour theory has always greatly interested me, and it’s been fascinating to see how colour has gone in and out of vogue over the years. From the vibrant and electric hues of the tech-driven 80s, the earthy tones that dominated the grunge era of the 90s, to the cool and metallic shades that rose through the Y2K era (whose eyelids weren’t messibly coated in shimmery baby blue eye shadow, whether it suited you or not?), and let’s not forget how rose gold and Millennial pink basically defined the 2010s.
With all this in mind, I got to wondering, “what are our customers’ favourite colours for silk?”
Let's start with women's top choices.
Top Three Women’s Colours
It was a no brainer, but #4. Cream was a top colour for women’s custom orders in 2025, and it makes perfect sense; timeless, versatile and universally flattering, this soft off-white shade has a spot in any wardrobe. From lingerie to lounge shorts and the perfect cami, Cream came up time and time again the past year.
Similar but different, colours #20. Powder Pink and #21. Rosewood were also extremely popular. Both fairly neutral shades of pink, Powder Pink is lighter and more pastel, while Rosewood has subtle brown undertones. Soft, romantic and undeniably feminine, I can see why Soft Stroke Silk’s female customers gravitate to these colours. The neutrality makes them perfect for pairing with other colours, and there’s something rather chic about finding your perfect shade of pink.
